THE TIKAL WORKSHOP FOR MARCH 2010 HAS BEEN CANCELLED.   INFORMATION WILL BE POSTED SOON ABOUT OUR NEXT WORKSHOP TO BE HELD IN PALENQUE  IN EARY NOVEMBER 2010

Our next workshop will be based in Tikal, Guatemala from March 20 – 27, 2010.  As with our previous workshops in Palenque and Copan, participants will have direct hands-on learning and training in the art, archaeology and epigraphy of the Classic Maya, led by well-known archaeologist and epigrapher Dr. David Stuart of the University of Texas at Austin. Tikal is among the largest and most impressive of all ancient ruins, with a rich history and culture now made accessible through deciphered texts and elaborate monumental art.

We’re looking forward to another fun and educational week in the field. Mornings will be spent on-site or in local museums, exploring the ruins in context and in detail. Lectures and workshops come each afternoon.
