Fees (excluding airfare)

What is included in the fee:
1. • Round trip transportation from the airport in Flores Guatemala to La Casa de Don David in El Remate, Guatemala. Transportation form Guatemala City airport will be available for and extra fee (to be determined).
2. •Hotel accommodations – single or double as registered
3. •Meals with a non-alcoholic beverage. This includes the Welcome dinner through the Farewell dinner with breakfasts and lunches in between. Breakfast on the morning of departure is not included since some passengers may be leaving for the airport very early.
4. •Transportation to and from the archeological site
5. •Fees to enter the archeological site and museum
6. •Taxes and insurance
What is not included in the fee:
1. • Transportation to Flores from your home
2. • Airport departure tax
3. • Any alcoholic beverages
4. • Any tips to hotel staff or transportation staff
5. • Any personal costs associated with the workshop or hotel. For example laundry, room service, telephone calls or personal transportation not associated with the workshop.
Other Details
Deposit:
A $500 deposit is required to reserve your workshop space. If for any reason you cannot attend the workshop you will be refunded all but $100 to cover administrative costs if cancellation is prior to 30 days before the start of the event. If cancellation is 30 days or less from the start of the event your deposit will not be refunded.
Insurance:
Maya Field Workshops recommends that you investigate the value of Travel Insurance for the time that you are away. You might also want to investigate Trip Cancellation Insurance. Maya Field Workshops LLC is not liable for any damage, loss or theft of personal belongings, or for personal injury, accident or illness associated with accommodations, transportation or any other services.
Credit Cards:
Be sure to contact your credit card company to inform them of your travel plans. Companies will often suspend your service if your card is used in unusual locations without notice.
Travel Documents:
You will need your passport to travel internationally and will be provided with other travel documents to complete on the airplane prior to landing.
Hotel in Guatemala:
Our base of operations is la Casa de Don David, located in El Remate, Guatemala. Registration costs with the Maya Field Workshop cover all rates and sign-in procedures for your stay at the hotel; no seperate registration with the Hotel is necessary.

To sign up, please send us an email expressing your interest and telling us of any experience you may have in studying the ancient Maya (none is required!). As indicated on the registration form, we ask that you provide us with your full name, current address, phone number and email address, and return it to us via email or mail.
